Volunteer Street Tree Care + Stewardship Workshop With City Councilmember Chris Marte

Saturday, May 3 10:30 am–12:30 pm

Join us at Chatham Square Library for street tree care and chat about upcoming stewardship initiatives

This event is a volunteer street tree care event with a followup discussion about ongoing stewardship initiatives at the Lower East Side Ecology Center.

Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and bring water. Folks will have a space to leave their belongings.

The Lower East Side Ecology Center (LES Ecology Center) is thrilled to launch The Coolest Block in the Lower East Side, an exciting new initiative designed to encourage community stewardship of street trees in the East Village, Lower East Side, and Chinatown neighborhoods.

This community-driven contest fosters environmental awareness, local engagement, and a healthy dose of competition, bringing together neighbors, schools, and organizations to transform their blocks into vibrant, green spaces.

Our Street Tree Care & Stewardship workshop is for folks to learn about street tree care, this contest, and other stewardship initiatives. Sign up here.
