It’s My Park Day at Tompkins Square Park

Join Partnerships for Parks and the LES Ecology Center for It’s My Park Day at Tompkins Square Park! Help activate and beautify Tompkins Square Park through a Watercolor Leaf Painting workshop led by local artist Jodie Niss, and learn how to care for street trees through a demonstration led by our staff. 

We’ll also be giving away free bulbs, buckets, compost, and mulch—all available on a first-come, first-served basis. Don’t forget to bring your own container!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

• The event will take place at the Slocum Memorial Fountain, near the flag pole, in front of the park building.
• Each household can take home up to 15 gallons of compost and/or mulch.
• Bring your own container (sturdy bags, buckets, or bins).
• Shovels and other tools will be provided to fill up your containers
• Bringing a cart is highly encouraged to help carry your giveaways!
• The compost is made from NYC food scraps and yard waste, and is ½-inch screened.
