Sustainability-In-Action: Mastiha Shop conserves energy by regularly cleaning their appliances to increase efficiency and turning off unnecessary lighting. The store conserves water by using low-flow aerators on all faucets and using a steam mop, which uses less water and fewer chemicals than a traditional mop and bucket with cleaning solution. Mastiha Shop is also proud that all of their products shipped from their online store are packaged in reclaimed boxes as well as all of their products being affiliated with fare trade, renewable or sustainable processes.
Sustainability Goals: Mastiha plans to participate in, and implement the results from, a lighting assessment by replacing its old light bulbs with energy efficient CFL and LED bulbs to reduce energy consumption. They also plan to eliminate bottled water usage within their store and to purchase at least 50% Eco-Friendly cleaning and office supplies.
