Sustainability-In-Action: Tokyo Rebel reduces their energy use with efficient lighting throughout most of the store and by using power strips and turning them off when not needed. Additionally, they have set the air conditioning to an efficient 76 degrees in the summer and clean the filter regularly. They also recycle all cardboard, glass, metal, and plastic bottles.

Sustainability Goals: Tokyo Rebel plans to further reduce energy use by switching the remainder of its halogen bulbs to CFLs. They plan to weatherize by adding a door sweep and caulking their drafty storefront. To conserve water, they will install a low-flow aerator on the sink, and add a water displacer to the toilet tank. They plan to try eco-friendly cleaners and use microfiber cloths instead of paper towels. They also plan to purchase eco-friendly bath tissue, printer paper, ink cartridges, and educate employees about these sustainability initiatives.
