Sustainability-In-Action: Wacky Wok has been an eco-minded leader on Ave D since it opened. The restaurant was energy audited and updated with the most efficient lighting possible. The dine-in eating area features décor made from renewable bamboo. Wacky Wok customers eat on reusable plates and utensils and all deliveries are sent out in biodegradable boxes with corn utensils upon request. The restaurant is able to compost the majority of its waste with is neighbor, Housing Works Catering, This means that Wacky Wok’s garbage output close to nil. Other eco-friendly practices include using EPA-approved cleaning supplies.
Sustainability Goals: Wacky Wok plans to become a platinum rated business by doing more outreach and support to neighboring businesses who wish to do the same.
